Living in NYC, I had no idea Mitchy-poo was all over Philly sports radio and TV these days. I'm glad though; I've always been a fan -- even after he crushed all my teenage hopes and dreams in '93.Here's a great article about Wild Thing in today's New York Times:
Williams, Former Goat for Phillies, Is Now Fan Favorite

Man, I loved Wild Thing. Now mind you, I'm a Mets fan and blogger (come visit), but the Wild Thing phenomenon was really a Thing in and of itself! The arrival of Wild Thing was an event, a spectacle, something to behold, and even if the pitching didn't measure up (duh, even Mets fans, dumb as we are, get where the nickname must have come from), you sure couldn't beat Wild Thing's arrival into the game for some good old fashioned fun!
Williams is a great personality and I find myself agreeing with him more often than not with his opinions regarding the Phils. On DNL a couple days ago he suggested the Phils release Taguchi and bring up Golson and I couldn't agree more.
