You would think the Phils could have beaten Arizona on Saturday... but what can you do?

Abreu hit his third grand slam of the year on Friday, and Utley also hit two homers during the same game. MIGHTY impressive, I'd say.

Vicente back on the mound tonight for Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN.

VICENTE!!!!!!!!!!

1.5 games ahead in the Wild Card race.

Even though parts of last night's game were pretty ugly, you have to admit the impressive offense right now. 7 runs on 14 hits last night, and they did it without any long ball. Abreu, Lofton and Bell each had 3 hits.

Phils are off today, which means I'm going to sulk around for the next 36 hours or so.

VICENTEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

That guy has really come around this year, eh? 8 innings, giving up only 3 hits and walking none?

Did you see Padilla talking to himself in the dugout in the third inning? That guy is crazy. Hey, whatever works, Vicente! Whatever works!

Offensively, last night was just awesome. 10 runs on 16 hits. ALMOST two HRs by Howard.

But in the end, all I can say is ... VICENTEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

So the Phils lost to the Giants last night. This we know.

But ... did you know that we're going to overtake the division in the next couple weeks?

I'm calling it now: Phils vs. White Sox. WS2005.

What do you think?

I'm serious people. I know my posting has been non-existent all summer, but I've been following our Fightins since Day 1. We need to get coordinate some kind of a mass-blogging rally. NOW.
