If everyone could just improve their averages by like .1, that'd be great.

Thank you,

Swept.

At what point will the Phils be able to score with runners in scoring position?

Also ... Vicente!!!!!!!

I know, I know ... I need to post much more. I am definitely following the Phils, don't worry about that (because I know you are.) I'm just not watching as many games, unfortunately, and when I don't see a game, I don't feel I can truly write about it.

Some general thoughts: Pat Burrell...this could be a big year. No jinxing just yet. But seriously...things are looking good.

Thome...congrats on the first homerun. It's about time.

Chase Utley / Placido Polanco ... I don't care which of you gets more playing time. Just keep doing what you're doing.

Vicente ... you're still here?

Bell ... what the hell man, you're my favorite and all, but you gotta really start picking it up.

Lofton ... Kenny frickin Lofton? .389? Kenny Lofton? Let me see your ID, sir.

Myers ... 0.44 ERA through 20+ innings. Nice.

Charlie Manuel ... I like your style so far, old man.

Well that turned out to be a bunch of BS, no?

What started out as some amazing defense (first inning or so) turned into some real grade-A slop, inlcuding Worrell's masterful outing.

Burrell's homer was nice to watch though, wasn't it?

Is anyone else getting annoyed with Harry Kalas's breath blowing into the microphone all the time?

Just kidding, Harry.

Anyway, great start to the season today, what else can you say? I'm glad Kenny Lofton homered, just to spite all the people who think he will suck this season ... which he might, but at least he's headed in the right direction so far.

Gamestar goes to Burrell, who had great game offensively, while showing off his arm arm in left, as usual.

Not a bad start by Lieber, though not necessarily the best either.

Offensively the Phils racked up a lot of hits (14), though I wish they would have capitalized even more on the 3 straight innings of loaded bases.

The only hitless Phil was Jim Thome.
