Frustration and a bit of anger.

The Phillies have to learn how to get those runners home. What could be the reasons for this inability? Poor hitting skills? Anxiety in clutch situations? It's a shame, really.

I don't know. Let's give GameStar to Wolfy. He did pitch a good 6 and 2/3 innings, and only two of the first six Cardinal runs were earned. Again, I wouldn't really call it a STAR outing, but Wolf, like the rest of the Phillies pitching, is pretty solid right now.

If you watched the game today, you know the umpires were just awful. You will never hear me say "We would have won if the umpires hadn't screwed up," even if it's the truth. But for those of you missed the game, you should know that Helen Keller could have made better calls.

For the record, I don't trust Jason Michaels with the bat. Granted, he had an on-base percentage of .416 last year in over 100 at-bats, but I just don't see the same potential this year. The same goes for Wooten. I know he didn't play today, but this guy has yet to prove to me that he knows what he's doing at the plate.

Westward we go. I hope I hope I hope Wagner gets a chance to pitch to Bonds next week, although I imagine the chances of this happening are slim.

Oh yeah ... nice job Thome and Burrell with the back-to-back HRs again.
