Much can be said about Padilla, who pitched an excellent six innings and finally got his first win of the season, and I would say he probably was the star of the game.
On the other hand, even though I've been trying not to give GameStar to the homerun hitters, I chose Thome tonight because without his bomb in the 7th, I don't know if the Phils would have ever started hitting at all. Thome continues to support the team, and even if he only gets one solid hit in the game, it's important that SOMEONE does to help jumpstart the other players (or at least ATTEMPT to). I don't think there really is a true team leader amongst Phils players, but Thome is the closest thing to it. For the record, he's now tied for first (with some other bums) in the league with 10 HRs, and his career total moves up to 391, I believe. Hey, it's late. Brain no working.
Anyway, way to go Phils. Let's get a little winning streak going here.
